WearBass
What is an upcycled blazer?

In short
Upcycling means transforming an existing piece through design so that it takes on a new expression. An upcycled blazer starts from a blazer that already exists and becomes something else: a piece with a different character, not just “the same jacket, resold”.
Upcycled, second-hand, recycled — what is the difference?
- Second-hand: the garment is sold as it is.
- Recycled: the material is processed to become something else.
- Upcycled: the garment stays a garment, but is reworked through design and gets a new expression.
How we work at WearBass
Every WearBass piece begins as an existing garment and is reconstructed by hand into a sculptural object, with dense embroidery and couture detailing. Here is what appears in our pieces:
- beaded embroidery and stars, with draped chains (Eclipse, Comet);
- a panel of reclaimed denim pockets, attached at the front (Salvage);
- hand-sculpted fabric rosettes running down the spine (Reverie);
- a sun embroidered with beads on the back (Solstice).
Our vests are blazers too, reworked without sleeves (Orbit, Plumage).
One of one, or a very limited series
Every piece is one of one, or part of a very limited series; nothing is mass-produced.
How to get one
There is no cart and no instant checkout. Choose a piece, send a request, and the designer reviews it and replies directly. See how requests work or all the blazers.
